Today I heard that the sale fell through for the building adjoining the North Branch library. What does that mean?
Council members proposed using the funds to renovate the North and South Branch. Thus the project will most likely die? What is interesting I believe they have awarded the engineering for the renovation.
Thus we may be moving one step closer to shuting the branches down.
I believe the best solution to this continued mess is to have the citizens of North Evanston form their own library taxing district to take over the operation.

Dear friends and neighbors,
For me, running for alderman is the culmination of two decades of community involvement and professional development. I've prepared for this job and timed it in my life. I've taken leadership classes and have flexible hours from my employer. I've run a political organization and I have a public record as trustee of a property tax district.

During the month of March, we will periodically be sending updates from our campaign journal - a quick and easy way for us to stay connected in the month prior to our Consolidated Election on April 7th.

On this past Tuesday night, Feb. 24, attendees of the Central Street Neighbors Association aldermanic forum were treated to a demonstration of the better side of politics. In one hour and 45 minutes, six candidates for the two open positions in the 6th and 7th wards fielded approximately 18 questions each, after first answering another 18 questions on a CSNA questionnaire.

I wanted to extend a personal thank you to the Central Street Neighbors Association and its leadership for last night's Aldermanic Forum.
My decision to become a candidate for Alderman in the 6th Ward was largely based on a desire to strengthen and deepen involvement on a community level. It was a hope to bring fresh perspectives into our conversations...and bring a new attitude to encourage productive exchanges. As with all conversations, the requirement is respectful engagement from all parties so that they can be useful and productive.

I think the public needs some answers out our staff and the city council members.
The water department wants millions to replace the aging water piple, claiming we may not have adeqate fire water supply in the system. They want to increase water bills over 40% over the next few years.
So what will be the situation when the 708 Church project is built? I am not talking about fire fighters but if a fire occurs will the supply of water be adequate to fight the fire?
