Chicago-based artist Christine Rojek's “Breeze Keeper” on the front lawn of the Evanston Art Center presents a field-like expanse of 62 counter balanced aluminum prairie images that sway with the wind.

Vacant Lot at 1881 Oak, Evanston

Fronting on Emerson Avenue, 1881 Oak was the last undeveloped parcel in the Evanston-Northwestern Research Park. Developer Robert King and Carroll & Associates own or have ownership option on the site and propose to build an 18-story condominium high-rise. Despite the Evanston Plan Commission recommending against the project, the City Council in 2006 after extended and controversial hearings voted to approve. The site as of spring, 2009, remains vacant.
