Evanston residents, businesses and organizations are invited to attend "Natural Lawn Care Basics," a workshop co-sponsored by the Evanston Environment Board and the Safer Pest Control Project. It will be held Wednesday, Sept. 30 from 7:00 until 9:00 p.m. at the Evanston Ecology Center, 2024 McCormick Blvd., Evanston.
Turf makes up nearly 25% of our urban landscape, and requires substantial time, money and maintenance. Conventional lawn care practices also use substantial amounts of water, fossil fuels and chemicals. At this workshop, you will learn how to grow a sustainable natural lawn – one that both looks good and saves money. The workshop will address:
• The health & environmental impacts of lawns
• The natural lawn care difference – and what it means to you
• How to grow a healthy natural lawn
• What to expect from ‘organic’ products
Attendance is free. Please rsvp at
