The Central Street Business Association will be holding its 6th "Retail Therapy" late night shopping event this Thursday, April 23, from 6-9pm in the 1900 to 2100 block of Central Street. The association advertises the evening as featuring "special sales, refreshments, in-store entertainment and a spring bounty of surprises to celebrate the end of the long, cold winter of 2008-09."
Scheduled evening events include a jewelry trunk show, with champagne and hors-d'oeuvres, at Chalk Boutique, 2611 Prairie Ave.; 20% off all new and vintage jewelry and all bags at Dame Couture, 1927 Central St., along with "sparkling wine and sweets"; cookbook signing by Gale Gand at The Spice House, 1941 Central St.; an exhibition by Chicago jewelry designer Sara Bradstreet at Stella, 2116 Central St.; reps from the Dr. Hauschka and Aubrey lines of skin & body care products at Walsh Natural Health, 2111-1/2 Central St.; 15 minute "animal communication sessions" with Dr. Kim Ogden for $25 at the Happy Husky Bakery, 2601 Prairie Ave. (bring 3 questions for Dr. Kim to address and call 847-425-1100 to book your session in advance); a book signing by Janet G.
