Reprinted below is a letter I received this week from Gene Frett and Virginia Mann. Both Gene and Virginia have been deeply involved in our community and take great care in making decisions about supporting elected officials. I hope you will take the opportunity to send along their note to those who may still be undecided about their choice for our next 6th Ward Alderman.
Dear Neighbors and Fellow 6th Ward Residents:
On Tuesday, April 7, Evanston residents will elect a new City Council. Although we do not always agree on which candidates to support, in this election we both agree that Chris Hart is the right person for 6th Ward Alderman. We are writing to encourage you to come out and vote for Chris on April 7. During the coming years, Evanston will face many important challenges. Thoughtful, experienced, intelligent leadership is critical to our future. We believe Chris will provide that type of leadership as our Alderman.
Chris has long served our community through his work as a Director of Camp Echo and Vice President of McGaw YMCA. Today, through his consulting work, Chris helps major corporations build healthy, productive working environments that strengthen employee engagement and morale. No doubt, his skills and experience at consensus building would be an asset to Evanston during this critical time.
With the incumbent not running for re-election, our Aldermanic race is expected to be close. Each vote is sure to matter. We hope that you will join us and vote for Chris Hart for Alderman of the 6th Ward.
Sincerely yours,
Gene Frett, 3020 Normandy Place
Virginia Mann, 3004 Normandy Place
