Evanston is hosting the electronic recyling event Sat March 14th. 10am-2:pm. Bring all those things that are cluttering up your basement, garage or home and get rid of them. There is no charge.

Evanston to Host TV and Electronics Recycling Event
If you can’t repair, refurbish, or reuse an old home electronic device, the next best thing is to recycle it. The City of Evanston’s Streets & Sanitation Division, in partnership with Samsung, CRT Processing LLC and Home Depot, will collect television sets, computers and electronic equipment for recycling at a one-day event on Sat, March 14, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. -James Park,at Dodge Ave.andOakton St. Evanston residents, along with SWANCC member community residents, are asked to help protect the environment by taking advantage of this event sponsored by Samsung. Association (CEA), Americans own approximately 24 electronic products per household. Recycling used electronic equipment recovers resources for reuse and recycling and also prevents hazardous components such as lead, cadmium and mercury from leaching out of landfills and polluting our environment. Electronic waste collected at the March 14th event will be processed by CRT Processing LLC. Located in Janesville, WI, CRT has a combined 40 years experience in recycling, data security, environmental compliance and asset management.
Electronic materials that may be recycled include television sets (all sizes), computer monitors, personal computers, printers, scanners, fax machines, calculators, cell phones, keyboards & mice, microwaves, radios, stereos, telephones, DVD and CD players and VCRs.
Residents are asked to not bring any white goods (ex. air conditioners, dehumidifiers, refrigerators), batteries, car parts, chemicals, light bulbs, hazardous waste, scrap metal or tires.
This event is for residential electronic waste collection only. Participation is limited to SWANCC member communities; a current city sticker or valid driver’s license will be required for entry. The SWANCC member communities are: Village of Arlington Heights, Village of Barrington, Village of Buffalo Grove, Village of Elk Grove Village, City of Evanston, Village of Glencoe, Village of Glenview, Village of Hoffman Estates, Village of Inverness, Village of Kenilworth, Village of Lincolnwood, Village of Morton Grove Village of Mount Prospect, Village of Niles, Village of Palatine, City of Park Ridge, City of Prospect Heights, City of Rolling Meadows, Village of Skokie, Village of South Barrington, Village of Wheeling, Village of Wilmette and the Village of Winnetka.
