7-Eleven representatives stated they felt there was demand. However, no data was presented. Member and City Assistant Planning Director Denis Marino recommended the committee not approve the application. Member and Zoning Administrator Bill Dunkley said the calls he received were overwhelmingly against.
There was a motion to hear comment from the non-members present. Ald. Cheryl Wollin spoke out against citing many calls she received. Two neighbors spoke out against also. It was moved seconded and voted to not recommend without discussion.
The application for special use permit to operate a convenience store in B1A was recommended.
