The Community Alliance for Better Government, in conjunction with Most Livable City Association, Central Street Neighbors, and Northwestern University Graduate Workers is hosting a public town hall at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 19th at Fleetwood Jourdain to discuss public concerns about the proposed Ryan Field expansion project.  The town hall is open to the public, and will also be viewable on Zoom at bit.ly/RyanFieldTownHall.

Speakers:

David Ellis former co-chair of the Fair Share Action committee of Evanston, who will discuss Payments in Lieu of Taxes( PILOT) and how Northwestern could be making a meaningful investment in its host city.

Kevin Brown of the Community Alliance for Better Government who will explain Northwestern’s history of tokenism and unkept promises to the Evanston Black community, and better options for investing in the Black community long term.

David DeCarlo Co-founder of Most Livable City Association, who will speak on concerns with zoning, diminished livability for residents, and the need for PILOT.

Emilie Lozier from the Northwestern University Graduate Workers who will address labor issues and strategies for ensuring that contractors facilitate union hiring, as well as local and minority hiring.

The town hall is open to the public, and will also be viewable on Zoom at bit.ly/RyanFieldTownHall.
