City Council to consider sale of "library" parking lot on Monday, Sept. 11

The Administration and Public Works Committee and City Council will consider the sale and development of the "library parking lot" located at 1714-18 Chicago Avenue at their meetings on Monday, Sept. 11. APW meets at 6 p.m. followed by other committees and then the Council.

A number of indivduals and organizations are poised to oppose the sale arguing that this development is large, would have a negative impact on neighboring properties (historic properties) and is inappropiate and not consitent with the character of the City.

The agenda packet is posted at the City website and the item under consideration can be found at pp. 192-225.

CSNA has taken no position on this, or other proposed developments, in downtown Evanston. This is posted for information only.
