Mouse Spotted in North Evanston

In our continuing popular series on local wildlife, we offer this image of a wild mouse recently photographed in a front yard in the Central Street neighborhood. I believe this to be a white-footed mouse, a species originally from the woodlands, but which then moved into the former prairies of Illinois.

Evanston State Rep Candidates Raise Funds; Hamos Eyeing A.G.?

Central Street Businesses on Council Agenda

The parking lot at the Baha'i office building, 1233 Central, is the first item on the agenda at tonight's City Council Planning & Development Committee meeting, 7 pm in the Council chambers. The Council will be considering the Zoning Board of Appeals's denial of the group's request to amend the 1963 Special Use conditions (which require, among other things, a 27' setback and landscape screening). Item P5 is Great Harvest's request for a sidewalk cafe permit. The 7-11 is not on either the P&D or Council agenda.
