Some departures, new arrivals, and musical chairs are keeping Central Street busy.
Goodbye to: Flynn Guitars, closed and its music lesson business reportedly moved north; Vose-Sanders Bootery at 1924 Central, after 91 years in Evanston, is closing (and running a sale while inventory lasts) at the end of the month. Vose-Sanders's Winnetka store will continue.
Hello to: Hometech Computer Solutions will take over the space formerly occupied by the Bank of America ATM machine and the adjacent space, site of several stores recently, as soon as the buildout is completed (expected move-in in spring).
New addresses: Koenig & Strey has moved from the building at 2528 Green Bay Rd. to 2110 Central St., former home of Prairie Shore Properties. Prairie Shore, meanwhile, has moved down the street to 2934 Central Street. And Durfee Orthodontics (Dr. Sharon Durfee Amato) will be relocating from 3000 Central to the commercial condo space at the Villa Centrale building, kitty-corner from their old office, at 2935 Central St.
It's testimony to the continued vitality of the Central Street business district that three different businesses have chosen to remain in the neighborhood when re-sizing. We wish our new and relocating business neighbors well!
