Free Green Fair and Electronics Recycling Sunday

This Sunday, March 14, from 1-4 pm, Go Green Wilmette, the Village of Wilmette, District 39 schools, and the Wilmette Public Library are jointly presenting GOING GREEN MATTERS: Wilmette’s Green Fair, 2010. The local-sized environmental fair for the whole family will take place at the Woman’s Club of Wilmette, 930 Greenleaf Avenue, Wilmette, and offers a number of presentations, exhibitors, and booths to learn more about living sustainably.
An important bonus: almost every type of electronic product can be recycled at the event. How many old computers, monitors, fax machines, and obsolete phones are in your basement? Purge your closets and your guilt at the same time.

Drop off in the parking lot of the First Presbyterian Church at 600 9th Street, one block east of the Woman's Club.
Then stick around for the neat stuff. The event will include presentations on recycling; home energy conservation; solar energy; LEED for homes; biking; green products; composting; organic farming, food, landscaping, and vegetable gardening; community gardening, and water issues, among others.
But it's not just show-and-tell. There are also a photo exhibit, raffles (including for a special edition American Girl doll), bingo, prizes, worm compost-making demos, and fun for the whole family. Did I mention it's free? For more info and complete schedule, see their website,
