“Give Neighborhood Crime and Drugs a Going Away Party”

This year we will be celebrating our individual block parties on Tuesday, August 4(6:00 – 9:00 p.m.) along with other cities and states throughout the USA.

What Is National Night Out?
National Night Out is a unique crime prevention event sponsored by the National Association of Town Watch (NATW). It is designed to (1) Heighten crime and drug prevention awareness; (2) Generate support for, and participation in, local anti crime programs; (3) Strengthen neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships; and (4) Send a message to criminals letting them know the neighborhoods are organized and fighting back.

How Can I Get Involved?
Traditionally, neighborhoods are asked to turn on their front porch lights as a display of unity. We ask that neighborhoods gather together and (1) Plan a neighborhood block party or cookout; (2) Schedule visits from the local police and fire departments; (3) Plan a parade or flashlight walk (4) Sponsor a youth crime & drug-free activity.
