Tendam: Why being a full time alderman matters

For the 6th Ward I will…

  • establish regular office hours
  • solicit and listen to your views before expressing my own in the Council chamber
  • draw upon my experience and personal network to get things done for you

For the entire City I will…

  • work to prioritize City services, improve efficiencies and cut unnecessary spending
  • do all I can to establish a two-way conversation between the Council and Evanston’s residents
  • establish sincere working relationships between the City and D202, D65 and the University

Mark,
I think you idea of being a full time alderperson is not in the taxpayers interest.

I like effective people, that is people who can get the job done in as little time as possible.

I do not live in the 6th ward but I think Mark Sloane is a good choice, he will be balancing his job as a CFO and raising his young family. That is he will balance his job as alderperson with his real life.

While I do not agree with him on the Crown Center, I think he will bring a needed prespective to the council.

Bottomline he will be fresh set of eyes as we have a tough budget year.
