Cong. Schakowsky Seeks Marchers for Pride Parade

Our congresswoman, Jan Schakowsky (D-9th), is looking for volunteers to "help to make a big showing" in the annual PRIDE Parade tomorrow, Sunday, June 29th. A letter from the congresswoman announces that her contingent will be "marching, dancing, and handing out Jan Fans, as we celebrate diversity."

This is the 39th edition of the parade, originally known as the Gay Pride Parade. It has become one of Chicago's most well-attended parades, with the Chicago Sun-Times estimating attendance the past few years in excess of 400,000 spectators.

The Schakowsky entry will line up at 11:30 AM at position #56 on Halsted, south of the intersection of Halsted and Clark. See Map.
