Residents Invited to Sign Up for Free Smoke Alarm Installation - November 12

The Evanston Fire Department and the Red Cross will  be installing free smoke alarms and educating residents about fire safety throughout Evanston on Saturday, Nov. 12.  The City has posted information here.

This event is part of the Red Cross' Home Fire Campaign, a multi-year, nationwide campaign that kicked off in October 2014. The goals is to reduce the number of home fire deaths and injuries by 25 percent during the five years of the campaign. Working with fire departments and community groups across the entire country, the Red Cross installs smoke alarms in homes in neighborhoods at high risk for home fires. Residents who would like an installation team to visit their home can sign up at getasmokealarm.org or call 312-350-8104.
