Evanston Park and Lakefront Alliance

We would like to share information with you about a new organization in Evanston that was formed to reach out in the community to build an alliance to keep Evanston Parks and the Lakefront open and public.

This organization is a loose alliance of individuals and organizations and now has a presence on Facebook. Many of those involved were active in efforts to protect Harley Clarke and other parks throughout the city.

As part of our commitment to the Central Street community, we are sharing this with you - you can learn more at the Facebook page for Evanston Parks and Lakefront Alliance (EvPLA). The organization is involved in review of plans for the mansion and the possible lease to the Illinois Department of Natural Resources.

CSNA is not a member of EvPLA, but has supported efforts to maintain our parks, beaches and open spaces for public use and access.

Here is information on the mission for EvPLA:

To provide strong civic stewardship that protects Evanston’s parks, open spaces, and lakefront for all generations.
